Regular fasting during Ramadan can prevent various health related problems such as high cholesterol, heart disease and obesity.

Since the stomach is empty during fasting, the digestive acid is released slowly during this time, which helps to eliminate various digestive problems.

There is no alternative to fasting in controlling high blood pressure, diabetes. Because not eating for a long time reduces the amount of cholesterol and glucose in the body.Fasting plays an effective role in getting rid of any addiction.

Health benefits for fasting

Peptic Ulcer:

It was once believed that patients suffering from peptic ulcer cannot fast. They have to eat frequently, stomach cannot be kept empty for long. Many believe that fasting damages peptic ulcers and increases acid levels. But actually these ideas are not correct. Controlled eating and drinking during fasting reduces acid levels. So if you fast properly and if you eat Sahri and Iftar with the right food, fasting rather relieves the ulcer, many times the ulcer gets better. Apart from this, fasting is also beneficial in gastritis, IBS etc. Gastric-ulcer medication can be used once or twice a night if needed.

Patients with respiratory problems or asthma:

People suffering from these diseases also have no difficulty in fasting. Such diseases do not usually increase during fasting, but because of the freedom from worry and direct submission to Allah, the incidence of these diseases is less. If necessary, take the medicine once or twice at night, which keeps the breath under control for a long time. Such medicines are easily available in the market. Medicines like inhalers or nebulizers can be used during the day for urgent needs, it will not break the fast.

Fasting during pregnancy:

If the pregnant mother does not have any physical complications, then there is no obstacle to fasting. Fasting is easy especially for the first few months. You should consult your doctor whether you should fast or not. If fasting causes harm to the mother or the child or if there is a doctor’s prohibition in this regard, then it is better not to fast.

In this sense, the Prophet said

“There are two joys for the fasting person. One is when he breaks his fast, and the other is when he meets Allah.”

—(Bukhari and Muslim)

In conclusion, since fasting is for Allah Ta’ala and Allah will reward it, so if someone thinks that I will fast for Allah, whatever happens, there will be no problem. And those who think that fasting will lead to various problems, the incidence of diseases will increase, there will be various complicatarticle he chances of these problems are high. Along with physical fasting, the heart’s fasting is real, so no excuse or laziness should be used to refrain from fasting.
